Room Update: New (Old) Chest Drawer

If you've been reading my blog, you know I've been trying to make my room over and one of the things I'm dying to update is this area:

The black bins are holding various tools and craft materials. The blue box contains bags. The pink drawer system holds clothes, accessories, and make-up.

My goal is to remove the pink drawers and free up the space on the right for (hopefully) a bag rack (which I actually have now, yaaaay! Which also means this is a late post haha). For the chest drawer, I'm hoping to find something I could put right below the window. I've been searching department stores, home improvement stores, and garage sales, but it took me a long time before finding one that fit my requirements.

I found this one at a  Japan surplus in Taguig for P6,000 with it having so much storage space, and in very good condition, I found that this could be good value for money. But it's too tall.

I also found this one for P5,000 at another surplus shop. This had the right height but wasn't long enough. It also had a huge difference in terms of storage from the previous one, yet it's only a P1,000 difference...so my heart wanted to continue searching still. And then I found this:

My thoughts: it was the perfect size, I like that it's white, and those handles could be easily replaced. Then I asked how much this costs, and the price totally won me over. It's P4,000 which I was able to still negotiate down to P3,000 *pats myself on the back*

When it arrived at my home the next day, I couldn't wait to get organizing. But first, before and after photos of the space, yes?

For days, I woke up smiling because of this view. Though I still have a lot to update like the hideous top and drawer pulls, but it's already looking a lot better. How I organized those drawers will be on the next post :)

I'm so happy to find the piece that fit my space and budget perfectly. I was tempted a lot of times to buy already, but there's really something good bound to happen when you wait patiently. Through this process, I've also learned not to settle for anything less than what you set your heart to. The end result will not dissappoint if you give enough time for the perfect one to be discovered.

Special thanks to my boyfriend for helping me rummage through furniture stores and thanks to my good friends Angela and Pastor Goms (getting married very soon yaaaay) for helping me bring this baby home!
