Here’s my Ignite 2013 Top 3:
1. As The
If you want to experience “as the spirit leads” in its most
tangible way, try volunteering as a stage manager for a conference. I’ve
been praying “many are the plans but Your will be done” ever since I could
remember and this is one instance I can really really say that it’s true! We may
have prepared the script and cue cards but Jesus proved to us that He is the
ultimate director who runs everything. You wouldn’t believe (I hope) how many
of those that happened are not part of the program. We’re used to giving cues
before talents and hosts go up on stage, but only God can cue something even if
they’re already on stage and still make it work and even make it better!
2. Volunteers
It’s amazing and so overwhelming that most of the workers
for Ignite are volunteers – people who have so much love for God and are
willing to give their time (and sleep haha) for the advancement of His kingdom.
I especially admire how every committee was excellent in their own tasks and
how God connected every team to work together and achieve success in a big
event such as this. It’s also such a blessing to work with people who are so
kind, encouraging, and humble. It makes volunteer work 100x easier and better!
Below are the amazing people of our Production Team (incomplete), the Dream Team aka Unicorns with the ever great program director Jael Garcia, and the Stage Left Team! So fun working with all of you! (Credits to Riri for the first 2 photos)
3. Worship
I thank God that even if we’re in the production team, He
didn’t let me go out of that place unchanged. Even with the commset in my head
and the constant voices (and shouting every now and then) in my ear giving cues,
discussing changes in the script, and adjusting to every technical need, Jesus made
sure that I’ll still be filled with His glory and His presence!
If God met me that way (even if we were busy and
constantly on our toes) I could just imagine how God showed Himself to the
thousands of students who were able to concentrate and absorb everything. They
are all probably going nuts right now. Who wouldn’t be crazy about God’s
love????
Also, God is crushing my heart by making me realize how
much He loves me, thinks about me, and is longing for me because He didn’t fail
to meet me even with the few instances that our commset was peaceful and quiet.
The experience of the participants is definitely so much different
from mine but the God we encountered in those 3 days is the same loving,
faithful, amazing, awesome, never changing, most powerful, risen King!!

Some fan girl moments
Plus, my take homes - the SOLD TAG and an ignited Animo spirit. Thank you to the random Lasallians I met who were gracious enough to give me face paint :))
I’m so grateful to be given the chance to serve in this
conference. To see 9,600 students singing, shouting, jumping for Jesus is a
feeling you can never put to words. I definitely ended my summer with fire!!!! As I said in my Facebook album, Ignite 2013 may have ended but the fire within shall never fade! To God be all the glory, honor, and praise!
